The Lady Owls Freshman volleyball B team closed out their very successful season by defeating Arlington Seguin!
The Joshua B team finished their season at 15-5 overall and 8-3 in district play. They defeated Seguin 25-12, 25-18. The first set was a dominant performance as the Owls never trailed after Allison Sayen’s first serve. Anna Yates and Tia Chernow dominated the middle and Haley Carter and Audrey Wiley were strong on the outside. Defensively, the Owls were led by pinpoint passing from Emma Mendoza, Tatem Bullard, and Ally Mankel.
The 2nd set was a different story as the Lady Owls found themselves trailing 18-10. After a timeout, Abbie Kelly and Brianna Tavernaro combined to break serve and then Tatem Bullard served out 14 straight points to finish the match. The Owls also received stellar play from Eden Bartknowiak, Austen Stanton, and Jaleen Guerrerro.
The B Team had a tremendous season that included a consolation championship in the Centennial Tournament and a 2-2 finish in an A team tournament.
