On Tuesday January 17th the Joshua Owls boys basketball team hit the road and nearly defeated Burleson Centennial (5-1 district 9-5A), coming up just short 35-42. The Owls tied the game up with 5 minutes left in the game but couldn’t ever take the lead against the Spartans. Mason Farley led the Owls in scoring with 12 followed by Will Boyd’s 9 points.
On Friday night the Owls hosted rival Cleburne falling 54-32. Michael Ayars was the top Owl scorer with 9, followed by Josh Kelso and Farley’s 8.
The Owls will look to nab their firdt district win Tuesday night as they host 9-5A foe Arl. Seguin at 8 p.m.
Tuesday night, January 17th, on the road vs Burleson Centennial, The JV boys basketball team played extremely hard while trying to battle through a rough night shooting the basketball. The team never quit and competed the entire game. Walker Calhoun led all scorers with 7 points.
Friday night, January 20th, the JV Boys Basketball took on Cleburne at home in front of a very nice crowd.The Boys got off to a good start led by Lane Coates’s 10 points and 8 rebounds. Although, the home team ran out of steam late, there’s plenty of optimism for the last two weeks of the season.
